La hora
(The Time)
1. La hora en español
– Siempre usa el verbo “Ser”.
(It is always used with the verb “Ser”)
– Es femenina y va con el artículo (la, las).
(It is feminine and it always goes with the article la, las)
– La 1:00 es singular. El resto de horas es plural.
(1:00 is singular. The rest of the times is plural)
- 1:00 p.m. – Es la una de la tarde. (It is 1:00 in the afternoon)
- 2:00 p.m. – Son las dos de la tarde. (It is 2:00 in the afternoon)
- 10:00 p.m. – Son las diez de la noche. (It is 10:00 at night)
– Para preguntar la hora actual:
(To ask the current time)
- ¿Qué hora es? (What time is it?)
- ¿Puedes decirme la hora? (Es una pregunta cortés. Se usa con personas que no conocemos). (Can you tell me the time? It is a polite question. It is used with people we do not know)
– Para preguntar la hora de un evento:
(To ask the time of an event)
- ¿A qué hora es el concierto? (At what time is the concert?)
– Respuesta:
(Answer)
- El concierto es a las 8:00 p.m. (ocho de la noche). (The concert is at 8:00 pm)
